Can a Virginia Court Garnish my Online Bank?

I've never seen a Virginia Court garnish an online bank.

I suspect they don't have the power to do it. This court case from Maryland explains why.

Today I found out something else important. A consumer lawyer in Michigan sued a collection lawyer. That collection lawyer had tried to garnish an out-of-state employer. And got told that was a no-no. And the collection lawyer had to pay the consumer for that violation. (There's likely an appeal.)

I don't think this has come up in Virginia. But I'm guessing that even before bankruptcy, they can't garnish your bank account, if your bank doesn't have branches in Virginia. These online banks, mostly, don't have branches anywhere.
